Everyone has to start somewhere, and Rachel Fair started writing at age 8 when she composed a short story about a killer teddy bear on her family’s old typewriter. Since then she has written countless short stories, absolutely terrible poems, and now she’s even crafting novels. Her goal as a writer is to make her audience feel something by the time they reach the final page.
After studying English/Creative Writing at Northwest Missouri State University for three years, Rachel went on to finish her degree at the University of Missouri – Kansas City with an added minor in Film Studies. You can see some of her previous work on The DM and No Budget Movie Blog. “White Houses” is her first novel, and as she journeys to find an agent/publisher, she is also working on her next project: a trilogy known as “The Morgan Mythos.”
When Rachel isn’t writing, she’s probably reading something, anything, and hoping she can be as great of a writer as her favorite authors. She practically lives with her over-sized headphones on at all times and is slowly destroying her hearing (according to her husband.) She can usually be found cuddling with her two black cats, Bruce and Selina, and cheering on her boys in blue: the Kansas City Royals.
